In 2025, a number of provincial governments in Indonesia imposed discounts and bleaching of motor vehicle tax (PKB) to ease the burden on the community and increase tax payments compliance. This program generally offers the elimination of fines, tax arrears in previous years, and free Motorized Vehicle Reverse Name (BBNKB), so that people only need to pay the prevailing annual taxes.
The following is a list of provinces that implement the program along with the details:
1. West Java (March 20 – June 30, 2025): Elimination of all PKB arrears before 2025 and free BBNKB. Just pay taxes in 2025.
2. Central Java (April 8 – June 30, 2025): Free and arrears fines, including the arrears of Raharja Jasa before 2025. The 2025 tax remains must be paid.
3. South Kalimantan (January 5 – June 28, 2025): Tax discounts for black/white/yellow plates, decreased delays to 1% per month, and free BBNKB II. There was no increase in vehicle tax costs in 2025.
4. Aceh (until December 31, 2025): Progressive Tax Bleaching for more than one unit of vehicle, based on the Aceh Regulation No. 40 of 2023.
5. Banten (April 10 – June 30, 2025): Exemption of PKB arrears and fines from 2024 and previously, without years, provided that the tax in 2025 was paid off.
6. East Kalimantan (8 April – 30 June 2025): bleaching of PKB arrears and fines. Requirements: Personal/religious vehicles; does not apply to late registration of new vehicles, mutations between provinces, change the shape/change of machines/ex dumps/auctions have not been registered; Excluding SWDKLLJ and PNBP.
7. Bali (starting January 5, 2025): Motor vehicle tax discounts up to 200 cc of 14.35%, above 200 cc of 12.15%, BBNKB new vehicles discount 24%, and progressive tax free and BBNKB II.
