Jakarta (NSM), The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has scheduled the presence of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo at the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) which will be held in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Saturday (31/1). It is said that Jokowi’s presence will be used to provide strategic direction to party cadres.

Secretary of the PSI Board of Trustees, Grace Natalie, said that the agenda had been included in the official National Working Meeting series. He confirmed Jokowi’s presence on the second day of the activity, after the opening which took place on Thursday (29/1).
“God willing, we’ll be there tomorrow,” said Grace Natalie to reporters after the opening ceremony.

In her statement, Grace also touched on the party’s internal dynamics which were recently marked by the joining of a number of national and regional political figures. One of the names mentioned is Rusdi Masse, a political figure from South Sulawesi who has a strong base of influence in the region. According to Grace, the presence of these figures is a signal of PSI’s consolidation ahead of the future national political agenda.
“I saw it for myself, the figures were present. The impact will certainly be felt,” he said.

The PSI National Working Meeting in Makassar is an important forum for the party bearing the elephant symbol to formulate organizational policy direction as well as strengthen its internal structure. In the context of national politics, this agenda can also be read as PSI’s attempt to emphasize its position amidst the power constellation of post-election parties.

Meanwhile, PSI General Chair Kaesang Pangarep in his speech at the opening of the National Working Meeting mentioned the absence of the Chair of the PSI Advisory Board. In front of the participants, Kaesang expressed his respect to the Board of Trustees, while questioning the absence of its chairman on the first day of activities.
“Respected Secretary of the PSI Board of Trustees, Mrs. Grace Natalie and all her staff, without a chairman. Where is the chairman? Hasn’t he arrived yet? Oh, yes, God willing, he will come tomorrow,” said Kaesang, greeted by the participants’ response.

This statement strengthens the signal that Jokowi’s presence has been considered an important part of the National Working Meeting. In the national political tradition, the presence of state figures in party forums is often interpreted as momentum for consolidation and confirmation of the direction of political communication.

Until the opening of the National Working Meeting, PSI had not detailed the direction material that Jokowi would convey. However, this agenda is expected to be one of the main highlights, considering Jokowi’s position as a central figure in national political dynamics in recent years.
