Jakarta (NSM), SBS is preparing to launch its newest talk show program entitled “Real Talk”which will premiere on Monday, February 2 at 22.10 local time. The first episode immediately presents big names, MMA athletes and television figures Choo Sung-hoonas opening guest.
Different from the conventional talk show format, Real Talk carries a character-based approach. Four hosts—Tak Jae-hoon, Lee Sang-min, Lee Su-ji, dan Kai EXO—will appear in exaggerated personas from different “universes” in each episode. This concept is designed to create fast, spontaneous and unpredictable conversations.
The premiere trailer released on January 28 gives a clear idea of the show’s direction. The opening episode has a prison setting, with the MCs appearing as prisoners. In one scene, Lee Su-ji is depicted as the most powerful figure, while Tak Jae-hoon and Lee Sang-min are positioned as “subordinates”, creating an absurd and improvisational comedy situation.
Choo Sung-hoon entered the set wearing an orange prison uniform. He is depicted relaxing in solitary confinement, with his characteristic relaxed attitude. The interaction with Lee Su-ji was made heated for comedic purposes, before the satirical reason for his “arrest” was revealed, namely accusations of “repeated violations of decency”.
This moment was complemented by the reappearance of Choo’s old adult photobook, which caused the atmosphere in the studio to become noisy. Responding to this, Choo chose to act lightly. “It was a relaxed photo shoot. Besides, I rarely wear underwear,” he said with a laugh, provoking a spontaneous reaction from the hosts.
In the same chat, Choo also shared his personal views on domestic relationships. He admitted that he didn’t mind if his wife was a model Shiho Yanohave male friends. “Having friends of the opposite sex is normal. Life becomes more fun,” he said. This statement was immediately met with a joke when it was revealed that Choo himself also had many close female friends.
Real Talk positioned SBS as an entertainment talk show that relies on characters, situations and spontaneous responses, rather than formal interviews. With Choo Sung-hoon as the first guest, this program signals that it will present light, open and surprising conversations from the first episode.
