Los Angeles, ca – Selena Gomez is no longer silent facing public obsession with her body shape. In his latest appearance on Podcast On Purpose with Jay Shetty (24/3), singer Lose You to Love Me It revealed his bitterness of the double standards faced by women in the entertainment industry.

“Nobody cares about men’s weight”

Gomez, 32 years old, bluntly highlighted the injustice he felt:

“I was judged because it was not white enough, not enough Mexico, or my weight that went up and down. But see-no one talks about things like this when it comes to men.”

He admitted, despite trying to avoid negative comments, criticism about his body often “Appears before me like an inevitable nightmare.”

“I chose to be healthy. These drugs saved me, but the side effects are my body changed. And that is a problem for people.”

Gomez confirms his commitment to mental health: “I’m not a model, and I don’t want to be that. The important thing is I can wake up every day with a good function.”

“Social media? I delete from the cellphone”

In the interview, Gomez revealed his strategy to face cyberspace toxics:

  • Without social media applications On the cellphone (“I only use via a laptop with a team”).
  • Tight filter against the content consumed (“I am human, sometimes still tempted to see, but 90% I ignore”).
  • Focus on the work (“Emilia Pérez and Music are the way I talk”).
