In an official announcement released by Pledis Entertainment on Wednesday (date), Wonwoo, a member of the K-Pop Seventeen idol group, is certain to undergo military service (military) starting April 3, 2025. This decision made him absent from various group activities, including performances at the Tecate Pa’l Norte music festival and fanmeeting in Japan that had been scheduled on the same month.
Pledis Entertainment said, “Wonwoo will start his military service on April 3, 2025. Therefore, he cannot participate in future activities, including events that have been planned.” However, the agency also ensured that Wonwoo would still be present at the Caratland Fanmeeting event on March 20-21, 2025, and appeared in various content that had been recorded before.
Seventeen fans, known as Carat, are advised not to come to the Wonwoo military service location on registration day. Instead, Pledis asked for support and love from fans through the Weverse platform. “Please express your support through Weverse. We hope that Carat can continue to love and support Wonwoo so that he can carry out his duties well and return in good health, “the statement wrote.
Wonwoo became the latest member of Seventeen who underwent military service, following in the footsteps of his colleagues who had already fulfilled this national obligation. Although they have to be absent temporarily, Pledis ensures that they will continue to support Wonwoo during their term of service.
