Victory convinced Juku Eja in the deciding match
PSM Makassar Ensuring tickets to the ASEAN Club Championship semifinals after defeating the Vietnam club, Dong A Thanh Hoa, with a landslide score of 3-0. The final match of Group A took place at the Stadium I Wayan Dipta, Gianyar, Bali, on Tuesday (5/2) night WIB.
The brilliant action of Nermin Haljeta and Daisuke Sakai
Slovenian striker, Nermin Haljeta, became the hero of Juku Eja’s victory by scoring two goals in the second half. Meanwhile, Daisuke Sakai also contributed one goal before halftime.
Thanks to these three points additional points, PSM Makassar finished as runner-up Group A with a collection of 10 points from five matches. They advanced to the knockout phase with Pathum United (Thailand), who came out as group champions with 11 points.
The game
Since the early minutes, Dong A Thanh Hoa dominated the ball possession. However, the first opportunity which means it came from PSM Makassar in the 13th minute, when Haljeta and Rizky Eka collaborated in a quick attack.
PSM almost opened the scoring after the game ran for more than 30 minutes. A blunder of Dong A Thanh Hoa’s back line made the ball fall to Victor Dethan’s feet, who then passed to Sakai. Unfortunately, Sakai’s final settlement was still wide.
Dong A Thanh Hoa tried to respond through Luiz Antonio’s long -distance kick, but PSM goalkeeper Reza Arya was still alert anticipating the threat. Not long ago, Doan Ngoc Tan’s shot also bounced over the crossbar.
PSM Opening and Domination Gol
The deadlock finally broke out before halftime. The error of the opposing goalkeeper was put to good use by Daisuke Sakai, who successfully scored and brought PSM 1-0 ahead.
PSM continued its impressive performance in the second half. Only two minutes after the game began again, Haljeta doubled the advantage of PSM to 2-0 thanks to a mature pass from Victor Luiz.
Haljeta’s second goal was created in the 76th minute, enlarged PSM’s superiority to 3-0. This time, Rizky Eka Pratama gave an assist used by Haljeta with an accurate kick to the upper corner of the Dong A Thanh Hoa goal.
Until the long whistle sounded, the score 3-0 remained, ensuring a brilliant victory for PSM Makassar.
